Many of us have lower back, shoulder, or neck issues that limit our ability to do backbends and twists. Through this safe approach, Elise will guide you through a series of backbends and twists that in combination will bring openness to your body, joy to your heart and enthusiasm to continue this practice for a lifetime. The class will conclude with more restorative poses and pranayama (breathing techniques) to create balance in body, mind and spirit. All levels are welcome. Founding director and co-owner of California Yoga Center, Elise Browning Miller is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher (CIYT) at the Intermediate Senior level and has taught yoga since 1973. Elise is on the faculty of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, is a published author and a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. She has studied in India with the B.K.S. Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar regularly since 1978.
